How to Find Out Who Called You from “No Caller ID” Private Number

If you have been receiving calls from anonymous or private numbers, you must have been very frustrated trying to stop them. Nowadays, everyone has the Truecaller app, which informs you when you receive a call about who the caller is. While Caller ID may assist people in identifying the caller, there are people who hide their phone number and caller id in order to make calls without disclosing their identity.

Originally, the No Caller ID feature was intended to prevent people from tracking your identity but is increasingly being used for illegal purposes. It is possible that these calls are coming from masked, hidden, and unknown users who may be trying to harass you. This function is primarily used to prevent third parties from accessing your information. Telemarketers sometimes use this feature to contact different people for product marketing.

You can find the identity of an unknown caller without a caller id quite easily by using quite a few methods. A guide to finding out who called you from a private number with “No Caller ID” can be found here.

How to Find Out Who Called You from “No Caller ID” Private Number

1. Contact Your Network Service Provider

Every call you make is recorded by your Network service provider, along with the person who called you. Each number that contacts you is given a unique Anonymous Caller ID.

You can use this service to identify the reliability and accuracy of the calls you have been receiving from unknown numbers.

Your service provider will require that every caller identifies themselves if you have enabled this service.

If the caller ID service is active, no one can harass you with an unknown number. You will need to provide your full name, address, date, and time when you received these calls, and other information, so that your mobile company can track the caller and enable this service.

2. Unmask Caller ID App

One of the unmasking caller ID apps is TrapCall, which is designed to reveal the real identity of the caller. Using TrapCall or other unmasking apps to get the number blocked if the person uses the “No Caller ID” feature to contact you.

Once the service is activated, you will put the unknown numbers in the blacklist section. After you have blacklisted the user, they will not be able to call you. In fact, their number will be blocked, and they will receive a message that says the number they are trying to dial is not in service. You will also get information about the number you are trying to dial, along with extra details.

Due to the fact that people cannot call these numbers or track their user IDs, these companies believe they will never be caught conducting illegal marketing activities. However, you might also be contacted by other users via this feature.

How Do Callers Hide Their Phone Number?

In the first place, how do these people hide their phone numbers when they call you?

The No Caller ID feature allows anyone to hide their number. You appear as an Unknown Caller when you make this type of call. Entering a few digits is all it takes.

Enter *67 before the phone number you wish to call. Your caller ID will be blocked automatically as a result of this action. You would dial this number: *67-555-555-0000.

Some people misuse the No Caller ID feature for harassment and other illegal activities. Thus, you should learn how to unmask the caller’s number.

How to reveal an unknown caller is explained in the following section.

How to Find out Who an Unknown Caller Is

By finding out who an unknown caller is, you can block them and stop receiving their unwanted calls. Unknown callers can be identified using the following methods.

1. Call Your Phone Company

Because phone companies keep records of your previous calls, they usually provide Anonymous Caller ID services. Your carrier may allow you to activate the *57 services. There may be other minor details revealed by this star code, such as the unknown phone number.

Sadly, not all carriers support this feature and those that do often charge a fee for it. For those methods that don’t work, contact your phone provider to see if *57 is an option to reveal unknown callers. The star code must be dialled immediately after the anonymous call.

2. Use TrapCall

TrapCall is one of the most reliable services to unmask and block unknown numbers.

With TrapCall, users can:

  • Any phone number can be unmasked.
  • Get the name, address, and photo of a caller with No Caller ID enabled.
  • Put these numbers on a blacklist so that when they call again, they will hear a message stating that your number has been disconnected.
  • Block spam calls automatically.
  • Record incoming calls.

TrapCall is free to use once you sign up on the official website. Then you activate the service on your mobile phone. It usually takes around five minutes and is pretty straightforward.

If you receive a No Caller ID call after setting up TrapCall, you must decline it. TrapCall then redirects the number to their system, unmasks the caller, and sends you a notification with the exact number.

TrapCall is compatible with both Android and iPhone smartphones. Outside of the United States, this service isn’t available.

There is a free trial option available with TrapCall. Sign up here to try it out.
